COLLEGE AT A GLANCE

Sullamussalam Arabic College is a pioneer aided Arabic College affiliated to the University of Calicut, approved by the University Grants Commission. The college had a humble beginning in 1944, under the management of the Jam-iyyatul Mujahideen (Regd) Areacode. The college owes much for its present status to the foresight, dedication and perseverance of the leaders of the Jam-iyyatul Mujahideen, especially of N.V. Abdussalam Moulavi. It was originally affiliated to the University of Madras in 1955 and then came under the University of Kerala and has been under the University of Calicut in 1968. The college was established with the objective of imparting quality education to backward minority communities in rural areas of Malabar region. Thanks to the Almighty, the college is so far successful in realizing the dreams of its founders. Hundreds of Arabic scholars have come out of this noble institution and been serving the community in different levels since its inception. Now on a stable footing, the college is venturing into new avenues of higher education.

The college at present is offering B.A. (Afzal-ul-Ulama) inArabic, BA Economics with Islamic Finance , BA English with Islamic History and M.A. (Afzal-ul-Ulama) in Arabic. A governing committee under the Jam-iyyatul Mujahideen is supervising the day-to-day affairs of the college. Currently Prof. N.V. Abdul Rahman Sahib and A.Abdussalam Sahib are serving as manager and secretary of the committee respectively. Dr. Abdul Gafoor CH is the principal of the college.

The college PTA is active and helpful in many ways in the development of the college. There are separate for both male and female students. The students are provided with opportunities for co-curricular activities for their mental and physical development. The college is proud of its discipline and academic record that give it an edge over other institutions in the same nature.
